Reveal your true identity…

I had my “public debut” two months ago when I decided to put my first ad in the Maui Vision. To put my name in print with the words “Healing Intuitive Channel” was a scary thing for me to do. Before this my work has always been more private. What would parents at my children’s school think? How would my relatives take it?

I have been interested in the healing arts from a very young age. I was raised in a strict Catholic home which gave me a wonderful foundation. There has always been a part of me that wanted to explore in depth many other religions and beliefs. I went in search of the truth.

Through the years I have worn many different masks in this search for truth. For my identity, of who I really am. I’ve worn a hairdresser mask, a business owner mask, the wife and mom mask fit really well. But who was I really under all these masks? My true identity is the real me, what I have been called to do as my life’s work.

My identity has changed so many times throughout the years. At times in my life I have felt so off from my true self, especially in my younger years. I believe that each self, each mask, brings you closer to who you are. Each one adds the life experience, a layer to the foundation of who you are becoming. I give thanks for all masks.

I believe your true identity brings you closer God or Spirit. The goal is to become one with Spirit and merge yourself into the light where all sense of identity is gone. There is only oneness with all.
So put yourself out there! Be brave, and let people know who you really are. First love yourself for who you are and let your heart shine through.

Bring your gifts to the celebration…

To find joy in all that you do is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to yourself. As you become busier in your everyday life with the demands of jobs, friends, family and community, it becomes that much more important to connect daily with your inner spirit. This connection could be made through a meditation, a short prayer, or something as simple as the lighting of a candle.

When I wake up in the morning my first thought is “Thank you for this day”! What a blessing it is to be alive, to find joy in the simple things. Celebrate your healthy body. I have a friend who is 103 years old and everyday she sings, “I love my body”! Celebrate beautiful children, their ready smiles given and received. As our beloved Dalai Lama reminded me celebrate the good in the world. Focus on that and the world will be a better place. And to remember most of all, to celebrate your gifts that you bring forth in the world. We are all here together at this time for a very special reason. Seek out the truth like your life depends on it. Hake a clear intention on discovering what gifts you bring. There are no gifts that are too small. Follow your passion.

Remember to also celebrate the adversities and hardships, since these are what invite us to grow or move us in another direction. At times our challenges might overtake us and we ask, “Why me”? The answer is that you have called it to you. Some of our biggest challenges can be our best gifts. Celebrate the perfect divine plan that enfolds in all that you do to bring you to the perfect self that you are.
